We had a day trip to St Tropez while staying in St Raphael.
(ps: check out our St Raphael page if haven't done so.
Notes on St Tropez:
- We learnt: St Tropez was “discovered” in 1956 when Roger Vadim’s “And God Created Women” was filmed here.
- If you think you can be with the rich and famous in St Tropez, you're mistaken, since they are all hidden in their fabulous private estates set on the high hills along the coast, protected from the curious eyes of merely mortals... (of course, this doesn't include us! :-)
- We were surprised that the beaches of St Tropez are mostly away from the center, and require some means of transportation to get to.
- A piece of advise if you are planning a visit to the French Riviera: If you wish to see the rich and famous' "floating palaces" moored in the port, go to St Tropez. If you prefer beautiful beaches with calm, cristal clear waters to swim in, then go to St Raphael... :-)
That's all from St Tropez, see you in Cannes...
Au revoir!
