The Old Town (Gamla Stan)
Notes:
- We stayed in the heavenly, 4 star Hotel Birger Jarl. It is highly recommended. Try to catch one of their specials. The buffet breakfast was so good, we put on some weight because of it.
- The Swedes are very friendly, humble, kind, and loving people with sense of humour. They speak English as well. So, there was no communication problems.
- Sweden is part of European Union but Swedish Kronor is still in use, instead of Euro. 1 Swedish Kronor is approx. 1/6th of Australian Dollar
- Sweden is known with and proud of its modern design concepts. The country is extremely environment friendly and working hard to preserve the environment and the history...
- Central Stockholm is a preserved 13th Century town (called Gamla Stan). The new and old isn't mixed.
- We took a cruise tour called "the Archipelago Race". It was a sightseeing tour among Stockholm's islands and we enjoyed it tremendously.
